Final Attendee List, Dinner Poll, Name Info, Calcio Storico Fiorentino and Fireworks!

Okay everyone, we are in the final stretch of our reunion planning. In case you are curious (and can’t find the password for the directory) at the bottom of this post is the list of alumni who have RSVP’d “YES” and paid. Check it out, reach out, and make plans accordingly. A solid 80 people will be in attendance.

Dinner Poll and Name Info

As communicated previously, our main event will be held at La Spada on Saturday night, June 25th starting at 7pm. Giuseppe of La Spada has secured a room for us and assured us we can use it until close (1:00 AM). The room sits 56 people, so the rest of us will spill over into the main dining area. However, pre-dinner appetizers and post-dinner dessert will be buffet-style in the room so we can mingle together and catch-up. However, first and second plates will be seated at tables.

Giuseppe is coming up with the menu but it will include “a trio of pasta, mixed roast with delicious potatoes, Florentine steak and tiramisu” Vegetarian options will be available, as well as a fish option. Giuseppe did ask for a count for who would like fish, so please see the dinner poll below (a separate link will also be e-mailed).

For both the kick-off event and dinner event, we’d like to provide name tags so we can quickly learn spouses and kids names. In the poll below, there is a place for you to list the names of everyone in your group (if you can add the age for your kids, if applicable, that would be great).

Poll Form: Dinner Poll and Name Info Request

Please complete the poll above, as soon as possible so we can work with La Spada on the menu, as well as create the name tags for the weekend. If you have any questions on any of this, please reach out. The main events listed on the agenda are considered paid for by your reunion fee, unless otherwise stated next to the event on the Agenda page.

Calcio Storico Fiorentino

In addition to our reunion, that Friday, June 24th happens to be the final events (match, parade and fireworks) for the Calcio Storico Fiorentino. This looks like it will be AMAZING. Unfortunately, tickets to the match are hard to get and (to keep it local, apparently) only available at local box offices. However, there will be fireworks that are set off from Piazzale Michelangelo on Friday night, which from what I’ve read can be viewed from most places along the Arno. Definitely add this to your itinerary for the evening for after our kick-off event, Friday night.

This does mean there will be a LOT of people in Florence that weekend, so give yourself plenty of time when planning your itinerary.
